The Allure of Serengeti and Beyond

The name “Serengeti” has become synonymous with the pinnacle of safari adventures. But Tanzania, a country blessed with diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife, offers much more beyond the Serengeti’s iconic plains. This 7-day round trip from Arusha takes you on an unforgettable journey to three of Tanzania’s most renowned wildlife destinations: Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti National Park.

Discover the Magic of Lake Manyara

Your adventure begins with a visit to Lake Manyara, famously described by Ernest Hemingway as the "loveliest lake in Africa." Nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the lake is surrounded by a rich ecosystem that supports a vibrant array of wildlife. Baboons roam in large troops, while hippos, giraffes, and elephants frequent the lake's edges. One of the area’s unique highlights is the tree-climbing lions, a rare phenomenon that adds an extra thrill to your game drives. An afternoon safari allows you to witness these animals at their liveliest, as they feed, play, and interact in their natural habitat.

Experience the Splendor of Ngorongoro Crater

From Lake Manyara, journey to the world’s largest open, inactive volcanic caldera—the Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of Africa’s finest wildlife conservation areas, hosting over 25,000 large mammals within its lush crater floor. The diverse landscape of forests, grasslands, and a soda lake provides a sanctuary for an incredible array of species, including lions, zebras, wildebeests, and gazelles. Ngorongoro is also one of the best locations to spot the critically endangered black rhino, offering a rare chance to complete your sightings of the Big Five.

Immerse Yourself in the Serengeti’s Endless Plains

The Serengeti National Park, often referred to as Tanzania’s crown jewel, is the final and most iconic destination on your safari. Known worldwide for the Great Migration, the Serengeti is home to over two million wildebeests and zebras that traverse its plains annually in search of fresh grazing grounds. However, the Serengeti offers more than just the migration spectacle.

During your stay, you’ll encounter the Big Five, with more than 3,000 lions and 1,000 leopards roaming the park. Cheetahs race across the open plains, hyenas patrol the grasslands, and African wild dogs hunt in packs. Giraffes, baboons, and gazelles add to the vibrant ecosystem. Bird enthusiasts will delight in spotting some of the 500 species that call the Serengeti home, from ostriches to martial eagles.

An Authentic Safari Experience in Mobile Tented Camps

To maximize your time in the Serengeti, this itinerary includes two nights in a mobile tented camp. These camps provide an authentic safari experience, allowing you to immerse yourself in the wilderness while enjoying modern comforts. Fall asleep to the sounds of the African night and wake up to the sight of wildlife grazing just beyond your camp.
